Material and function of cone crusher socket liner and socket liner

The socket liner and socket  in the cone crusher are key components, which have an important impact on the performance and life of the crusher. The socket liner is usually made of highly wear-resistant materials, and common materials include high-lead bronze, cast iron and high-manganese steel. High-lead bronze has moderate hardness and good wear resistance, and is often used to process medium-hard materials; cast iron spherical bearings have good wear resistance and impact resistance; and high-manganese steel socket liner have higher hardness and wear resistance, and are suitable for processing harder materials‌12. The design of the socket liner is usually spherical, which can withstand the impact and friction from the material and reduce the wear on the main shaft and the housing. Its surface often has a raised geometric shape to increase the contact area with the material and improve the wear resistance‌2.

 

The socket is the support structure of the socket liner, and its material and design are equally important. The main body of the socket  is usually made of metal material, with sufficient strength and rigidity to support the socket liner and the moving cone assembly. The design of the socket  includes upper mounting holes, lower mounting holes, oil channels and positioning holes, which are convenient for installation, removal and lubrication. This design not only improves the durability of the socket, but also simplifies the maintenance process. The high-pressure oil access to the oil channel makes the socket easier to remove, reducing the complexity of the traditional top screw removal method. In short, the socket liner and socket of the cone crusher have been carefully considered in material selection and design to ensure efficient and durable performance.
