The main functions of the accumulator of the mining crusher are to store energy, maintain constant pressure, serve as an emergency power source, absorb hydraulic shock, reduce pulsating flow and pressure, serve as a thermal expansion compensator, and play an overload protection role. ‌

The application of accumulators in mining crushers reflects its multiple roles in hydraulic systems:

‌Storing energy‌: As an auxiliary power source, the accumulator can store excess energy when the hydraulic system is working, reduce the oil supply demand of the hydraulic oil pump, and thus reduce the motor power. This helps to reduce the size and weight of the hydraulic system, realize the miniaturization of the hydraulic pump, and save energy investment.

‌Maintaining constant pressure‌: When a leak occurs in the hydraulic system, the accumulator can replenish the oil supply to the system to keep the system pressure constant.

‌As an emergency power source‌: In the event of a sudden power outage or failure that causes the oil pump to stop supplying oil, the accumulator can provide a certain amount of oil as an emergency power source, so that the actuator can continue to complete the necessary actions.

‌Absorb hydraulic shock‌: The accumulator is usually installed before the reversing valve or the cylinder. It can absorb or alleviate the impact pressure caused by the sudden reversing of the reversing valve, the sudden stop of the cylinder or other reasons, and protect the hydraulic system from damage.

‌Reduce pulsation flow and pressure‌: The liquid discharged by the hydraulic pump usually has a large pulsation, which will cause noise and vibration in the hydraulic system and destroy the working stability of the system. ‌As a thermal expansion compensator‌: In a closed hydraulic system, when the temperature rises, the hydraulic oil will expand in volume. When the temperature drops, the liquid volume shrinks, and the accumulator can provide the required liquid to the outside.

‌Overload protection‌: In the mining crusher, the accumulator mainly plays the role of overload protection. The operating state of the crusher is adjusted by controlling the increase or decrease of the oil amount in the cylinder to protect the equipment from overload damage.
